Admissions

Admissions

The School of Biblical Learning (SBL) is committed to providing men and women with extensive knowledge gained by intensive study of the Word of God. All are encouraged to enroll, whether they are preparing for full-time service or whether they are seeking to gain a richer knowledge of God and His design.  SBL accepts students according to Biblical standards and, therefore, does not discriminate against applicants on the basis of earthly race, skin color, nationality, or ethnic origin.

Prospective Students

For students seeking degrees, SBL offers both undergraduate and graduate programs. Applicants for admission to undergraduate programs have normally completed their high school studies and should submit copies of their high school or GED transcripts with their enrollment application. SAT and ACT scores are not required but may be submitted for consideration.

Applicants for admission to graduate programs have normally completed a four-year college degree and should submit copies of their college transcripts with their enrollment application.

Transfer Students

SBL seeks to maximize the transfer credits for students who have completed equivalent courses at other schools. Transfer students who wish to apply credits from other institutions to fulfill SBL requirements should submit copies of transcripts from each of the institutions from which they wish to transfer credit. Upon receipt of all appropriate transcripts, SBL will evaluate the credits on a course-by-course basis and will determine which are potentially transferable.  To be considered for graduation, transfer students usually must complete one full year of work at SBL.

International Students

SBL does not accept non-immigrant (I-20) foreign students but provides teaching and materials to all individuals able to attend classes online or by digital media.

Military and Military Veterans

The U.S. military services and the Veterans Administration do not allow SBL students to receive education benefits for their studies at SBL, and thus, SBL purposes to keep costs at an affordable level.

Auditors and Sit-ins

Individuals who are not seeking a degree but who desire to learn may choose to enroll in courses at a reduced rate.

Means of Attendance

Students may attend selected classes at the Virginia Beach main campus, but most will attend live online classes through Microsoft Teams. Class recordings are available on the SBL or TBBCS websites, or on other digital media.
